Lorelei is growing up so fast--she turned 1 month old this weekend! We celebrated by running some errands to Babies R Us, Buy Buy Baby, and Baker's Square for dinner. I realized during dinner we had actually gone to the same stores to do our baby registry and the same restaurant on the day we found out we were having a little girl! What a coincidence!
Yeah, nobody likes to grow older. :)
Here is a blog of us and our upcoming 'Little Hardt'. We will do our best to keep you filled in on all of the experiences--good and bad--and keep you in the loop of all the fun we're having.

3 Weeks Old!
Our little girl turned 3 weeks old and it was recommended we start introducing the bottle at this time. I have been pumping breast milk and have begun stocking up for emergencies, baby-sitting, and future daycare needs. We were warned that she might fuss in the beginning, and she did, but, it wasn't bad at all. It was actually very successful and we are very proud of our little girl.

2 Weeks Old !!!
Today we celebrate Lorelei's 2 week old birthday! Yippee!! It has been a very fast two weeks. We've had a handful of visitors including Grandma "Special" Kohlweiss and Gramma Honey and G-Pop. Special friends Denise, Gina, and Leyla even stopped by as well. We also got to skype with Auntie Andra and Uncle Adam, Auntie Nicole, and Cousin Jackson. We are getting a bath every 3 days (we don't like baths at all!), have gone for stroller walks, we pooped on Daddy, peed 3 times on Mommy, and even had our first real photo shoot. We still sleep a lot during the day and like to party at night. Mommy and Daddy hope (pray) that will change soon. :)

Why the name - Lorelei Marilyn?
Lorelei is the title of a song by Daddy's favorite band, STYX. In essence, it's a tribute to all of the great music that has been an unobtrusive companion to Daddy for his whole life. Lorelei is a beautiful, strong, feminine, German name that means "alluring." Legend has it that Lorelei sits high above a rock on the Rhine river near Germany singing her soft melody. Daddy, Mommy (and now Lorelei) are of German descent. Marilyn is Mommy's maternal Grandmother who has been an influential presence for all of Mommy's life. Fun fact: Lorelei is a character played by Marilyn Monroe in the movie, "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes."
Also, here is a video of us in the hospital sharing the name with my family for the first time. The woman next to me is my Grandma Marilyn. Her reaction to us telling her we have given Lorelei her middle name is very touching.
