Waterpark!

Yesterday, our friends Mike, Annette, and little Blake Stephani came down and visited us. After lots of playing, a nice breakfast at Café Labelle aka the old folk's home, we went to Country Springs Waterpark for 4 hours of swimming, sliding, and games! Lorelei and Blake were on their best behavior despite not having a morning nap.

Toddler Gym!

Today was Lorelei's first gym class!! It is called Toddler Gym and is at our YMCA. The kids played with balls, hula hoops, balloons, and lots of running! She did fantastic and really had a great time.

18 Month Check-Up!

Today we had Lorelei's 18 month check up. She is right on track with everything and according to the doctor is ahead of schedule for her vocabulary. Dr. Walkey was impressed that she is starting to string two words together and that she had her first potty-training experience last week. We also had the dreaded MMR vaccine today. She cried as expected, but, took it like a champ. Daddy Aaron had a great idea of starting a tradition of going to Culver's for a treat after every doctor visit. So, away we went!


Likes: reading books, being naked, brushing my teeth, playing 'chase', Minnie Mouse, swimming, jumping, dancing, climbing everything, baths, my bottles, my giraffe paci that I call 'Teddy', giving hugs and kisses

Dislikes: getting dressed, getting my face wiped, getting diaper changed, my sippy cups, being told no, barrettes/headbands in my hair, getting temperature taken, getting weighed at the doctor's office

I'm watching you, mean nurse lady.

Pudding Party!

I came across an old photo of Daddy Aaron licking the bowl from some chocolate cake batter. I just had to recreate it. Although, I used sugar-free chocolate pudding. :)

 

Playdates & The Potty!

Last Valentine's Day we had a playdate with our besties, Ellie & Maisy. Their mom, Lindsey, brought over lunch for the girls, did crafts, colored, had a 'heart hunt', and even had cupcakes. It was a great time. Ellie & Maisy are about 11 months older than Lorelei so are well into potty-training. When Lorelei saw Maisy use the potty, it really got her interested. So much, in fact, Lorelei went to her potty, said poo-poo, and sure enough--we did!!! I think we just got lucky as it hasn't happened since, but, it's a start!

 

Then, later that night, we went to our friends house, Kevin & Tracy, for a small dinner party where Lorelei experienced her first 'album night' with Daddy.
