The last 2 weeks of volleyball as a Junior Raccoon have been very successful, especially today.

Our first Homecoming Week at Silver Lake was a successful one. We had multiple dress up days and got to walk in the Homecoming parade. The theme this year was Groovy 70's and the school did a Scooby Doo theme.
Last weekend we had heard about a Cheese festival in Monroe, Wisconsin (about 90 minutes away). We were thinking of going, but, then decided we were definitely going when we heard Gene Simmons from KISS was suppose to be there. I don't think we really thought he was going to be there. It seemed to good to be true. But, he was !!! He was there promoting a new vodka. We were waiting in line to meet him. Unfortunately, he ran out of time for that. But, fortunately, he walked out right past us !!! We were able to talk to him, get pics, and Aaron got 3 things signed !!!
Lorelei's had a great start to school. She has adjusted very well to waking up at 6:10am (thank you Alexa alarm clock) and is getting used to bringing her violin every other day. She is also loving the hot lunch where she can get a cheeseburger, hotdog, or chicken patty every day if she likes. 😉
Here is her outfit she wore on picture day. Unfortunately, she has to do picture re-take day because they spelled her name wrong AND forgot to put a barcode on her id.
BUT, she was selected as one of the first students of the year to get the Chain of Awesomeness. She received this on Friday during the first assembly of the year in front of the entire 5th and 6th grade. She received this for 'connecting' to others at school. I asked what did she do to connect to others. Her reply, "I said hello to people." 💖 Later this week she gets to pass it on to a teacher and she has already chosen her orchestra teacher, Ms. Fix.
Lorelei began 5th grade last week which is also intermediate (middle) school in our area. She loves her teacher so far, but, not the bus so much. So, it looks like we'll be driving from now on.
The last week of summer vacation was spent visiting our favorite places for lunch (Pizza Hut buffet is back !!!) and cookies, building Legos, pear picking, swim party with volleyball team, seeing our first high school girls volleyball game with autographs after and team pictures, arts & crafts, losing a tooth, and exploring our local creek.
