Madison Field Trip

We were lucky enough to get to go on the very popular 4th grade field trip to Madison. Also, Mama Jamie was very lucky enough to be chosen as a chaperone!

We had a very educational and informative tour of the Madison State Capitol. We also got to meet Wisconsin State Assemblywoman, Barb Dittrich. Barb and Jamie have met a few times in real life and are Facebook friends, so, Mama felt like a little special when Barb knew Jamie and she got a big hug. :)

Then, we were off to the Henry Vilas zoo where we saw lots of animals and our friend, Lydia, was almost eaten by a lion.

Our Last Talent Show

Last week was the talent show at Park Lawn and this will be the last one Lorelei will participate in at her elementary school. :( However, 4th graders can choose to be in the show, to be in the stage crew, or an emcee. Lorelei auditioned for emcee. Here is a video of her finding out her results.

Milwaukee Day

We had a great day today downtown in Milwaukee. We spent the morning at the Milwaukee Public Museum to see our favorite exhibits including the new and awesome dinosaur exhibit. We then ended up at Lorelei's new favorite sports bar and restaurant, Major Goolsby's.

New Harry Potter Room !!!

Last week we re-decorated Lorelei's room in a Harry Potter theme. It was a complete surprise to her! Here are some pics and video.

Snow Fun

Nixon Park in Hartland opened an ice skating rink and they had a little snow party yesterday which included ice bowling, sledding, limbo, and much more !!

Good-bye Olga

This week the 4th grade had their biggest project to date, the Immigration Simulation. For weeks, they have been studying ancestry, foreign countries, and what it was like leaving your home and arriving to Ellis Island.

Lorelei was assigned to be a 42 year old seamstress named Olga from Poland looking to come to America to make money and be successful.

"Mean Girls"

No--not mean girls at school. But, "Mean Girls" the touring Broadway musical which was based off the hit movie. We won the 'Lucky Seat's lottery and had great seats at a great price !
