We had a great day today downtown in Milwaukee. We spent the morning at the Milwaukee Public Museum to see our favorite exhibits including the new and awesome dinosaur exhibit. We then ended up at Lorelei's new favorite sports bar and restaurant, Major Goolsby's.
Last week we re-decorated Lorelei's room in a Harry Potter theme. It was a complete surprise to her! Here are some pics and video.
Nixon Park in Hartland opened an ice skating rink and they had a little snow party yesterday which included ice bowling, sledding, limbo, and much more !!
This week the 4th grade had their biggest project to date, the Immigration Simulation. For weeks, they have been studying ancestry, foreign countries, and what it was like leaving your home and arriving to Ellis Island.
Lorelei was assigned to be a 42 year old seamstress named Olga from Poland looking to come to America to make money and be successful.
No--not mean girls at school. But, "Mean Girls" the touring Broadway musical which was based off the hit movie. We won the 'Lucky Seat's lottery and had great seats at a great price !
The last 3 weeks have been a whirlwind with 1st semester of school winding down, Andra and her family visiting, baking Christmas cookies, eating Christmas cookies, Mama Jamie getting to see Rick Springfield (twice), going to Urban Air, going to Skyzone (twice), going to the movies, Mama teaching lots of classes, and Daddy having lots of time off from work, Lorelei building LOTS of Lego sets, and celebrating Christmas and New Year's.
