Our little girl is now 6 weeks old and is doing so well. I think (knock on wood) we finally have our days and nights figured out and she is currently only waking up twice a night. Daddy has been taking one of the nighttime feedings and I usually take the other one. We are more alert every day and we have even gotten our first real smiles. Lorelei gave hers to Daddy when he was cleaning and he took a break to say hi to her. I got mine when I asked what she wanted to be for Halloween this year. She smiled when I gave her the choices of ladybug or a ghost.
Also, last week Grandma 'Special' Kohlweiss came out to baby-sit while Jamie went to run some errands and the grocery store. Jamie was doing fine until she got in the car and realized this was going to be harder than she thought. After 2 hours of being gone, Jamie rushed home to see her little girl as happy as she could be with Grandma. I missed her so much!
Aaron and I also had our first night away from the baby for date night while we went to Jamie's favorite restaurant, Solly's Grille, and to see the Rick Springfield documentary, "An Affair Of The Heart" at the Milwaukee Film Festival. Grandma Honey and G-Pop baby-sit this time and she was as perfect as can be. G-Pop discovered Lorelei likes gospel music!
