Spring Break ???

It will definitely be a Spring Break to remember. Even though, we can't go anywhere we sure are keeping ourselves busy. A few highlights from this week are: sidewalk art, a new LOL toy, going on hikes, building a robot, baking, blinded food taste testing, lots of board games, and building a robotic Easter egg decorator.

First Week of Home School

The first week of home school was a pretty good one. We are definitely learning and adjusting to all 3 of us being home. Lorelei has been doing some fantastic work at home! We've been doing our academic work and special projects put on by our gym teacher, music, and art.

Homebound

Well, due to COVID-19 we are all staying homebound as much as possible. Lorelei's school is closed, Mama's YMCA is closed, and Daddy's work has told him to work from home. We will start the assigned home-schooling lessons tomorrow.

We bought a new Spin bike so we can exercise at home. This was actually already in the works, but, the timing couldn't be better.

Lorelei's not so sure of her new teacher.

Getting familiar with the laptop to do some learning.

Bought a new book to read.

Mama and other lunch ladies spent some of the day packing breakfasts and lunches for the free/reduced kids in Oconomowoc schools.

Future Chef

Tonight Lorelei participated in the Future Chefs of America contest. The theme was her favorite school lunch meal reimagined. Her favorite school lunch is nachos and when we were discussing doing the contest, she said she wish she could have nachos for dessert. I told her, "Well, those would be dessert nachos. There is such a thing." And, then the idea took off. Strawberries, blueberries, dried cherries, whipped cream, and hot fudge on top of tortillas baked in a butter-cinnamon sugar mixture. Yum!!

6 finalists got to go to the high school and cook with a professional chef and then they presented their plates to the judges. Lorelei took 3rd place amongst her competitors. We are all very proud !!!

Cancun, Baby !!!

We recently spent 5 glorious days in Cancun at our favorite Dreams resort. We swam our hearts out, jumped a million waves, saw fish, saw numerous shows (including a pirate show, a circus show, a mariachi show, and more). The food was amazing including all you can eat buffets, sushi, lobster mac n cheese, room service, and endless cheeseburgers. We got private yoga classes and private tequila tasting, we slept in, made pinatas, hit pinatas, napped, had jenga tournaments, did facepaint, did fish spa therapy, aqua aerobics, and absolutely loved everything!
